Surfing

• If you want to add surfing to your package, it works like this;

1st week; including lessons, transportation and board rental (add £185 to your package)

2nd and following weeks; including board rental and transport to and from the beach ( add £100 per additional week to your package)

  Remember, surfing is for ‘early birds’……… You will be learning to surf at Encuentro, just two miles from Cabarete town centre where you will be staying.  Included in your Spanish/Surf package will be transportation to and from the beach once each day at 06.30am.  Don’t choose this option if you have difficulty getting up!!  Bear in mind though, once you do tear yourself away from your bed, you will enjoy a warm and (normally) sunny start to the day.  Your surf lessons will be intensive for the first week with a lesson every day, after which you should be able to begin catching waves alone.

  Day 1
  • Land and ocean knowledge
  • Practice on simulator to learn position, paddling, and take off
  • Learn to ride the white water. Go with teacher in the water using a larger beginner board and practice positioning, paddling, takeoff and surf

  
  Day 2

  • Learn how to evaluate the wave conditions. We will discuss wave size, direction, and second periods
• Practice on the board simulator. Learn to take off and turn in front-side
• Go in the water and practice
• Surf, surf, surf 

Day 3

• Ocean knowledge
• Go in the water with 7.2 Malibu board
• Learn to sit on the line up; selection of waves
• Learn the rules of riding

Days 4-7

• Practice the above and receive tips and advice on improvement.

If you are intermediate;
We can help you fine tune your surf skills and give you advice and tips on improvement. We will evaluate your strengths and weaknesses and give you detailed feedback. You can learn how to duck-dive, do floaters, or learn some radical maneuvers.  You will go on special trips to visit secret surf spots.

 

A typical day on the Spanish/Surf Package;
6.00am ……… Get yourself out of bed!!
06.30am …….. Transportation leaves to the beach
09.30am ……… Return to accommodation for breakfast 
11 am………  Spanish lesson.
2.00pm - onwards, …………Free time
7.00pm - dinner

Apres-Sports

• 

One of the great things about Cabarete is that it is the North Coast’s hub of enjoyment.  The lovely bay is lined with tasteful restaurants and bars – it’s not Ibiza (thank goodness) but it has its fair share of clubs to choose from and all within a few metres of each other on the main beach.  Partying takes place on the sand and you will be able to walk easily (just 5 minutes) from your accommodation to where the action is. 
Bars like Lax  and Voy Voy kick off the evening before you carry on the night at Onno’s or Bamboo.  You won’t need to drive anywhere; everything is on your doorstep. 
The town is safe and the friendly atmosphere carries on into the night; we are fortunate not to suffer from the type of disorder that affects many suburban towns in Europe and the States when too much alcohol and testosterone mix!  A happy vibe is always present.

Accommodation

You will be staying in brand new, modern and very comfortable accommodation, less than 5 minutes walk from the town centre; the whole idea of the vibe here is to ‘join in’.  Meals are communal – you will be able to quickly make friends if that is your goal.  If you come in your own group, that’s cool too because the atmosphere is welcoming to all.  The accommodation has its own swimming pool and a pool table for entertainment, with other games to keep you fully occupied. 
Don’t come expecting to sit and watch T.V. though; talking and socializing is the order of the day – time to talk about the day’s adventure and achievements. 
Accommodation is arranged in doubles or Dormitory rooms – all with en-suite shower rooms. 
Free poolside wireless internet – bring your laptop with you and make everyone back home envious as you post your latest day on Facebook, Twitter or Myspace!
